We call for the creation of a new and peaceful front line. We can strive for European integration according to either ideals or interests. The two approaches should undoubtedly reinforce one another. On the military map, this translates very clearly into the streamlining and financing of the Common European Security and Defence Policy. This impulse cannot be given unless member states decide, together, to prioritise this field, and unless citizens, bearing a common vision, support the project for a strong and responsible Europe. This is a much-needed unanimity.
