Europe needs new Community Initiatives as LEADER, URBAN, EQUAL

The European Union’s so-called Community Initiatives were launched about 15 years ago in order to encourage the participation of local actors in cooperation and the exchange of experiences on a European level. LEADER, URBAN, EQUAL and other acronyms stood for a bottom-up approach to local planning and the participation of civil society in political decision-making. [...]
On 7th June, Europeans will vote. There are only a few days left to demand more Europe, but not any Europe. Every day, in the meantime, we will publish 2 concrete proposals suggesting a new Europe for tomorrow. They will be written by actors from the European and worldwide civil society. Because social society a key stakeholder in the discussion with our leaders for a more social, and sustainable Europe. A Europe who can also show solidarity. These are the objectives set by the three associations who have launched ”Challenge for Europe”. 3-2-1, grab your pen.
